In November 2006 the first MEDIACITY conference was held with high profile speakers. Running over two days this provided an opportunity for academics from a range of disciplines to come together to discuss topics under the headline of MEDIACITY. At this event the book "MEDIACITY" was launched.

The second international MEDIACITY conference entitled "MEDIACITY: Situations, Practices and Encounters" took place in January 18-19, 2008. Within the framework of the conference, 26 international speakers from 11 countries sought to explore the potentials of the interdisciplinary field between architecture, media and urban studies with focus on the three conference's key themes. The conference presented the second publication within the project, entitled "Media and Urban Space. Understanding, Investigating and Approaching Mediacity".

Furthermore the MEDIACITY Project has been represented within the 10th International Bauhaus-Colloquium entitled "The Reality of the Imaginary. Architecture and the Digital Image" with the MEDIACITY workshop "Urban Image -Global Media".
