Mirjam Struppek

Mirjam Struppek ia based in Berlin and works internationally as urbanist, researcher and consultant. She is President of the newly formed International Urban Screens Association (IUSA) and a member of Public Art Lab, Berlin. With a background in Urban- and Environmental Planning she has internationally lectured and published essays with a special focus on the livability of urban space, public sphere and its transformation and acquisition through new media. Mirjam has been instrumental in building the Urban Screens community and in collaboration with the Institute of Network Cultures, and Department of Art in Public Space, Amsterdam she developed as curator and co-organiser the concept for the first international Urban Screens conference in 2005. She is currently working on further implementing this concept of utilizing outdoor screens for a sustainable urban society. She is coordinating Urban
Screens Melbourne 2008 and curates an extensive multimedia program around the conference. Together with Public Art Lab and the Mediaarchitecture Group Vienna she is developing "Mediaarchitecture Today" a festival taking place in Berlin, September 2008 at the German Architecture Center (DAZ) around the topic of media facades.

Since 2002 she has developing the online-information-platform interactionfield about the relation of interaction, new media and public space. In this context she organizes since 2005 the monthly discussion evening „Urban Media Salon“. In 2003 she worked as Gallery Assistant in a gallery for still and motion pictures in Berlin. Mirjam Struppek was specially selected member of the ISEA 2006 - Interactive City Jury.




Lisa Tilder

Lisa Tilder is an architect and associate professor at the Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University, USA, where she teaches design, representation, and theory. She has received design awards including the Young Architect's Award from the Architectural League of New York and the Far Eastern International Digital Architectural Design Merit Award. She is co-editor of the recent book, Design Ecologies: Essays on the Nature of Design published by Princeton Architectural Press, in which she shapes a history of the open-source movement. Her design work and writing explores boundaries between architectural design, media and popular culture, from New Media to Environmental Design. She has been awarded support for her work from the Graham Foundation for the Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, The National Endowment for the Arts, the US Department of Energy, and the Battelle Endowment for Technology and Human Affairs among others.




Stuart Veech

Stuart A. Veech lectured on "Smart Technologies - Intelligent Buildings" at Graz University of Technology and at Innsbruck University on the subject of "Deployable Structures". Since 2004 he has been a research partner in the Augmented and Ambient Research Network at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London. In 2007 Stuart A. Veech was appointed Senior Research Fellow at Royal College of Art, London in the department of Innovation Design Engineering.
