Research Questions
The MEDIACITY aims to deepen and elaborate its research activities on three issues:
The Electronic City, Architecture and Media, and the Knowledge Economy.
The three research areas shall be investigated by the following research questions:
- The Electronic City: E-Government and new forms of political participation, E-Commerce and the consequences for the consumer, E-Learning and the improvement of the knowledge society, Mobile technologies in urban context
- Architecture by Media: How can the new IT-media be used for the elaboration of urban design? What forms of interaction are necessary to develop new media programmes to overcome traditional problems in architectural design? Which new forms of presentation of architectural products are possible in order to allow public debate? How can the accelerated mobility in cities be covered by new media in architecture?
- Knowledge Economy: Creation of innovative milieus in cities with the help of high-tech architecture, Supplementary facilities to stimulate start-ups in cities of transition, Local and regional entrepreneurial policies to support the rise of a knowledge industry, Territorial prerogatives for a knowledge industry
